Paper Pumpkin GIVEAWAY is BACK!
Have you guys missed our monthly Paper Pumpkin Giveaway as much as I have?! I was so ecstatic to get my red polka dot box on my doorstep. It’s always a surprise for me to see the new month’s goodies. And this month I decided to use my kit not only to make some thank you cards for Christmas gifts but also to start my Bullet Journal for 2018.
I have never been much of a journal keeper. But my Mom is a regular journalist, she has journals from when my Dad and her dated. Honestly, it is one thing that I really admire about my mother. Unfortunately I didn’t get the gene or something. I have purchased journals and write in a few pages and stop. But I think I can get behind this new bullet journal idea since I love lists and creative endeavors.
It’s a 2018 Goal: Bullet Journal
Why am I getting on the bulleting journal train? Well bullet journaling is a bit less like writing your story in novel form. I like it because I can jot down a few things that my kids did. Or in January I am going to start off with my goal setting and my 2018 inspiration or theme. Plus, I love that there are elements of “scrapbooking” as in pasting a picture or memento here or there without having to create a whole embellished page.
So bullet journal it is! I think it will fit my “mom lifestyle” right now. Perhaps as I get older I will have more time to write extensively. But right now I want to catch those little moments where my kids make me laugh to tears. And a place to put a picture besides my phone or computer screen.
Bullet Journaling: Getting Started
There are some amazing ideas for bullet journals out there from super fancy to basic like mine. I wanted to start off basic to see how dedicated I really will be. And since I am a frugal gal I grabbed a basic spiral bound notebook and gussied it up with my Paper Pumpkin box this month. Paper Pumpkin is great to use for journaling because even after I make all the cards I always have leftover items to use. Why not use them for my bullet journal?
Other important items to have on hand are label tabs and a good set of gel pens or your favorite writing utensils. I went with Avery UltraTabs because they are two sided writable and smudge free. Once you section off your bullet journal you can easily flip from one month to the next. Ahhh I love organization so much! Now go grab some colorful pens and you are ready to get this show on the road!
Let me know if you decide to start a bullet journal and any tips you may have for me! I am looking forward to a 2018 full of awesome memories to write down. Happy New year and don’t forget to enter the Paper Pumpkin GIVEAWAY below!
