“City sidewalks, busy sidewalks, dressed in holiday style. In the air there’s a feeling of Christmas!”
My favorite memories include Christmas trees twinkling with hundreds of starry lights, snow covered houses with frosted Christmas windows, yards decked with festive, red, green, silver, and gold decorations. Nothing compares to the decorations of the holiday season. The memories that they bring warm the heart and soul. Simple times of joy from childhood and reminders of Christ and his birth. Ah yes, this is Christmas time! The whole world seems to light up with the spirit of love and giving!
This year I anticipated the arrival of a few packages from Wayfair to kick off my holiday decorating of my Christmas window. I am always impressed with the quality of Wayfair’s products. Previously, I had purchases a few similar items from other retailers but returned them due to the comparison of materials. Wayfair provides well manufactured articles that look expensive but are at an amazing value. Plus, the items I ordered arrived before Thanksgiving Day which made my gratitude more abundant! Because I was able to present this window display for our guests as we sat and enjoyed the feast of our abundant blessings.
During my creative brainstorming or daydreaming of what I wanted to express in this year’s Christmas window I found this lamppost. This lamp became the center of my holiday decor plan and theme “Light the World”. Light is so comforting. In the cold winter months light guides us and gives the glow and promise of cozy warmth inside. Seeing lights through a frosted snowy window is so inviting and peaceful. These are the feelings that I want to invoke upon those who pass my home. A simple reminder of the true light of this world and season, Jesus Christ.
Also during my Wayfair shopping I found this little reindeer figure. Because of my great love of nature and God’s humble creatures I wanted to take my display in a woodland creatures direction. To me the forest and animals know the wonders of creation and life. They look upon the world peacefully and remind us of the beauty of the Earth. If you have ever came upon a deer in the woods as you are walking you will know of the majesty of these creatures and the feeling of quiet awe that they exude. Truly the woods during Christmas are truly magical!
Creating an atmosphere through decor is something that allows us to express ourselves and the feelings we have for the holidays. It doesn’t have to be grand and overly done, the simplicity and beauty of the Christmas season is best spoken through the beauty around us. By adding a few simple items and some lights so many memories and emotions surface. Christmas is a time of giving and goodness and these things bring light into peoples’ hearts. The light reminds us that the greatest gift is “Peace on Earth!” May you all have holidays full of light, love, and much peace.
