The countdown has begun. Actually, we’re pretty firm in the countdown. If you need an easy decoration for your home or a party, I have it for you in this Easy Christmas Banner.

I have really been enjoying this Cozy Christmas Fabric that I got from Riley Blake Designs. It’s fun that everything will be coordinated around my tiny apartment. For this project, I also got some glitter heat vinyl letters from The Crazy Creative Vinyl Lady. She can make anything!
These are the patterns of fabric I decided to use for this banner. Some of them only have a little left. Others have a lot. I’m going to make another table runner like I did in this post, so I’m glad there is still fabric left.
I also used this Heat n Bond in the extra firm to stabilize the fabric. I love this stuff. It’s so easy to use.
I needed 15 pieces, so I used all but one fabric 2 times. I cut them 10 inches by 10 inches so I could get 2 pieces from each one. Then I attached them to the stabilizer, following the package instructions.
After they were all stable, I created the tails for each piece. I have attached the link to the pattern below, so you can just trace it.
After they were all cut, I ironed over the top of each piece by one inch. Then I sewed very close to the edge, to create a place to string my jute twine.
Next, I ironed the vinyl on to the fabric. I laid out the order I wanted the fabrics to be, so I didn’t have 2 the same next to each other. I also wanted my letter colors to alternate.
Finally, I strung each piece on the jute twine. That turned out not to be as easy as I thought it would be. A lightbulb went off in my head though because I thought if I just threaded it one time, through a straw, that would be easier. It totally was and I might be doing that on everything from now on. I hung my banner on the terrace, overlooking the ocean. It’s kind of odd that I have no snow, but I’m not complaining one bit.
So, how is your Christmas decorating going? I’m being very slow about it, which is okay because I still have some time. I need to stop thinking of things I want to try though. HA! Keep scrolling to get the pattern.
