Today I have a special treat for you. Samantha is here to share her Halloween Front Porch, along with some pictures of her super cute kids. (Yes, I’m bias.) A special thank you to Oriental Trading Company for sponsoring this post and Samantha’s fun porch. We super love Oriental Trading Company, so it was a great honor to work with them.
It’s that time of the year again. FALL! The leaves are changing, sweatshirts and leggings are out in full swing. Hunting season is a big deal where I’m from, and I love it all! My kiddos are very excited that Halloween is right around the corner. I’m sure like most kids, they love dressing up and seeing how much candy they can get in one night. The other day I was coming home after picking up the kids from school and saw our very boring porch and thought to myself, that needs to change, as soon as possible.
The next day I was frantically checking the Oriental Trading website for things I could use to sproose up my front porch. They had some amazing ideas on there already and some awesome costumes. I decided on a spooky wreath I made, and also some fun pumpkin accessories.
I love happy mail!
I started by painting the white foam wreath I got. Foam is a lot harder to paint than I thought, but it didn’t have to be perfect since I was covering it anyway.
I also got this awesome glow in the dark fabric paint that I covered the cloth in, but it rained before I could get a good picture.
Once I got the wreath all covered I started hot gluing my spiders on and these awesomely spooky eyes that I made out of ping pong balls. I’m not an artist, so no judging.
I found this really cool picture that says “Happy Haunting” on their site, and then decided to Samanthafy it and added the lace bow and some more spiders to it. The spookier the better!
I had it all mostly done but decided that something was missing. Don’t tell my boys, but I found some toy snakes in their room and stole them, painted them, and glued them on the wreath. They still haven’t noticed, so I think they will live without them.
If you are needing some fun Halloween decorations or costumes, you should totally check these guys out! They had everything I needed and didn’t even have to put real pants on! (P.S. They are having a great sale right now too!)
After making my wreath I decided to do a fun project with my kiddos. Have you noticed lately that kids are obsessed with emojis?! Well Oriental Trading has emoji stickers for your pumpkins!!! I was so excited to show my kids.
We first took a fun trip to U Pick in Idaho Falls. You get to pick your own pumpkins, ride on a train, and they even have a free straw maze for the kids. And the pumpkins are the same price as Walmart!
Once we got the pumpkins home we got to decorating. But first, Hayden had to paint his pumpkin brown. You guessed it…..poo. (Eight year old boys.)
I love how easy the kids were able to decorate their own pumpkins. And I didn’t have to worry about the kids losing a finger while doing it. And I’d say they look pretty good next to my spooky wreath. They make the perfect Halloween Front Porch, don’t you think?
What is your Halloween style?
