Where is Your Heart?
Like most people, I love my family. They are always close to my heart. Where is your heart? As you may know, we travel a lot for my husband’s job. Mostly it has been full of really great experiences, meeting interesting people around the world and seeing so many fantastic places that it’s hard to remember them all. Sometimes I sit back and just think about all my husband and I have seen in our years together. It’s a lot. We have been very blessed.

The hardest part about traveling the way we do is leaving our children and grand children in Idaho. When we are in Idaho, we spend a good amount of time with them, so not seeing them or talking to them all the time is tough some days.
Our family is a little different than most families in that we spent a lot of years living in very close quarters with not too many other people in our lives as we traveled around. You see, as our kids were growing up, we traveled the world for my husband’s job, often only staying someplace for a few weeks. It makes your family very close.
For a lot of those years, we traveled in a 36 foot, two bedroom travel trailer, with a cat and a dog. It was constant chaos for sure, but when any of us look back on that time, it is always fondly. Since we had a two bedroom travel trailer, our kids all shared the same room. I made curtains for the bunk beds so they had some privacy, but they weren’t closed often.
When we moved to Idaho for our oldest to attend high school, we bought a pretty large house, 5 bedrooms plus other rooms. The thought was that each child would have their own room and I would have a craft room. I thought they would love the space. In actuality, it took quite a long time before they slept in their own rooms. A really long time. The closeness stuck.
Now they are all grown and while they all live in the same town, it’s harder for them to get together because of adult responsibilities. However, all of us getting together is one of the things I love the most and one of the things I miss the most when we are on the road.
When I saw the state bar necklaces from Cents of Style, I felt like it was the perfect thing to wear to remind me of where my heart is much of the time, in Idaho, with my kids and grand kids. I really love Cents of Style accessories because not only are they high quality, but they are affordable as well. (Thanks so much to Cents of Style for my necklace!)
The state necklaces are on sale this weekend (July 15-17, 2016), so get you and a few special people their own necklace before the sale is over. Use my affiliate link and code NewState to get yours. Shipping is free too. My favorite price.
