Summer Boredom Busters for Kids
Be honest here, how is your summer going? How many times have you heard, “Mom, I’m bored.”? Or the even more popular, “Mom, I’m boooooorrrred.” I was thinking about this the other day and decided maybe I should give you some help in this area. Keep in mind, I bring you these ideas as a mom to kids who grew up before most of the digital age. The younger kids had video games, but really, none of them spent much time online because it was either not created yet or they just weren’t interested. Hopefully you will find some fun things to pass the time on my list of Summer Boredom Busters for Kids.

I know that summer is close to over for a lot of people, but some people still have a good month left of their vacation. This is probably when parents are starting to question their sanity. I remember that time well. Of course, I homeschooled my kids for several years, so I thought my sanity was in jeopardy a lot. Seriously.
When my kids were young, and now that I have grandkids, we did a lot of arts and crafts projects. There are so many ideas on Pinterest if you can’t think of anything.
Clear a big spot in your living room and build a blanket fort with them. The fort will keep them busy for a very long time. Seriously.
Have you gotten on the coloring bandwagon yet? I really love to color when I need to quiet my brain or just to make something fun. How about coloring with your kids. I recently received this coloring book that is super neat. It is made so parents and kids can color together, in the same coloring book. It has pictures side by side of the same basic picture, but one is more detailed than the other. You can find Let’s Color Together: A Shareable Coloring Book for Parents and Kids on Amazon. Just click on the link.
Build an obstacle course in your backyard. You can adjust it to meet the needs of your kids. I just looked up Kids Obstacle Courses on Pinterest and came up with a slew of result. Seriously. They will have a lot of fun and they will wear themselves out. What a great combo.
The Dating Divas have some really great Summer Boredom Buster kits on their site. They look like they contain a lot of great ideas for not so much money. Perfect, right? Kids can do things such as have a Lemonade Stand and play Summer Bingo. All you have to do it print it out and you have hours of fun at your fingertips. You can get it for only $14.97! Summer Boredom Busters
Is your family going on a road trip anytime soon? We took many road trips when our kids were growing up. Seriously, so many. One of the things I did for long trips is go to the dollar store and wrap little presents for the kids to open them when they got bored in the car. It wasn’t fancy at all, but it did the trick. The Dating Divas have this Road Trip in a Box for only $4.97! It looks like a really fun box and the packaging is so much cuter than what I did. Plus there are other things in the box too.
Both are great deals to secure your sanity.
