It’s time to start thinking about the dads in our lives and today I have a Father’s Day Card from The Paper Pumpkin and one I made on my own. Plus a fun giveaway, so be sure to read to the end so you can enter. There are a few dads in my life that I like to celebrate each year, my own dad, of course, my husband and my father-in-law. I could go to the store and buy some generic cards, but I decided to make my own. It’s pretty handy that this month’s Paper Pumpkin box has Father’s Day cards you can make right in them, as well as some other fun stamps for other holidays or just because.
This is the front and inside of a couple of the cards. They are super simple to make, so if you aren’t a crafty person or don’t make a lot of cards, don’t let this scare you. That’s something I love about The Paper Pumpkin, the fact that anyone can make the cards. As always, the Paper Pumpkin and Stampin Up supplied me with the supplies for this post.
In case you don’t know what the Paper Pumpkin is, I will tell you really quickly. They are a division of Stampin Up, which is a company with so many card making and paper craft supplies. I’d love to walk through their warehouse sometime. The Paper Pumpkin is a subscription where you get a box of supplies to make either cards or some sort of craft in your mailbox every month. It’s pretty awesome.
The other card I made is one I used my Sizzix to make. Have you ever used one of them? They are amazing. I started out with a piece of Pool Party card stock and a piece of Whisper White card stock. I also used the World Travel Textured Impressions Embossing folder, which I think is pretty neat and timely as well.
I cut the pool party paper to the size I needed for the embossing folder and put the paper in the folder.
Next I laid it on the Sizzix Big Shot.
Then I cranked it through the machine.
And this is what it looks like after it goes though. Neat huh?
I stamped the paper with the “You Mean the World to me” stamp from the Going Global stamp set and then glued the green paper onto the white paper, which I had cut and folded to be a card.
On the inside, I used some of the decorations from this month’s Paper Pumpkin box and some fun washi tape. Now I have the cards figured out for Father’s Day. I just have to figure out the gifts. Keep scrolling for the giveaway. It’s a good one.
This month’s Paper Pumpkin giveaway will by my last, at least for a little while. I’m moving to where they can’t ship the boxes, Martinique, so there is no way for me to get them. This month’s prize will be the Many Manly Occasions box from Paper Pumpkin and a medium Priority Mail box of Craft Loot from my personal stash. To enter, use the widget below. This is the first time I’ve used the Gleam widget, so if it isn’t working, come back later and I will try to fix it. Good luck!
