You know that feeling, when you are totally finished shopping for Christmas and then you realize you forgot someone?! Oh the horror. Then, you look in your wallet and dang the luck, the money you budgeted for Christmas is almost gone. What are you to do? I have an option for you today, a Quick and Easy Gift Idea, that you can use any time of year. It’s a personalized water bottle, filled with some goodies that don’t cost a lot.
You can get various water bottles for not too much money at places like Ross, TJMaxx and Marshall’s for less than Walmart or Target, and they are good quality. Just make sure you get one that has at least one smooth “side”. (Sorry for the blurry picture. I have been fighting with my eyes and camera. I have to change something up.)
Measure the smooth side of the bottle, where you want your personalization to go, so you make it the correct size.
I used my Silhouette to cut vinyl for my bottle. Since I was personalizing it for my blog, I added a whisk and rolling pin.
After it was cut out, I added that transfer paper to make it work…
then I attached it to my bottle like so and rubbed the vinyl onto the bottle. I get my vinyl at Expressions Vinyl. They not only have oodles of vinyl, they also have instructions on their website for how to work with vinyl.
Pull off the transfer paper, making sure your vinyl sticks to your bottle. If it doesn’t, put the paper back over the vinyl and rub some more.
When you pull your paper off, here are the results. I love the two colors together. Then, you can fill the bottle with whatever you like. Some fun ideas are fuzzy socks, nail polish, lip balm, candy, toothbrush, water flavoring, the list is endless of what you can add.
Wrap a ribbon or some tule around the bottle and you have a great gift idea. It’s totally useful and you can fill it with things your receiver will enjoy. If you don’t own a cutting machine, there are lots of people who do, just ask on your Facebook page or ask your friends and I’m sure you can get some cut.
