Merry Christmas! I know, it’s still two days away, but after I write this, I’m going to step away for a couple of days to celebrate with my family. Before I do, I wanted to bring you a little Christmas Home Tour and a Giveaway! I hope you will indulge me in my home tour. It’s not such a big tour, but I thought I would share it with you any way. There is a little story to go along with it too. Hopefully it will entertain you for a few minutes.
My husband, youngest daughter and I all went to Florida for Thanksgiving. It was wonderful and we were all happy for the trip. Our trip was two weeks long, or at least mine and my daughter’s trip was two weeks long. My husband’s trip was cut short by a week for a work emergency. The original plan was that we would meet in Salt Lake City and drive home together. That didn’t happen and instead he had to stay another week and we went on home at the end of our trip. The biggest bummer about that was that he was gone for our anniversary. So sad.
Our tradition is to go cut a Christmas tree our anniversary weekend each year. Since he was gone and wouldn’t be back for awhile, I went and bought this little pre-lit tree to decorate. My oldest daughter came over on our anniversary and made me dinner and my little grandkids helped me decorate the tree. I missed my husband, but had a pretty nice evening anyway. It’s fun to decorate the tree because we pick up ornaments in different countries we visit, so it’s like a walk down memory lane.
I also have a Nativity set that I put out, it’s my favorite thing about Christmas. It’s so wonderful to see it and remember the Savior and what this season is all about. Since we are back in this house, I was able to put it on my buffet in the dining room. (Have you watched the video about the Savior on my sidebar yet? If not, you really should.) On my living room table are some decoration we’ve been given over the years.
You might recognize the Noel front door decoration from a post last year. I also added some garland and flowers to our stairwell and my little gingerbread garland to my kitchen wall. My mom gave me the gingerbread garland a lot of years ago and I still love it. It’s a pretty simple home tour, but I was trying to have less for my husband to get done when he returned from his trip. He was pretty happy about it.
Now, on to the giveaway! This month’s Paper Pumpkin box is entitled “One Great Year” and when I opened it, I was pretty excited about it. It is so cute and a great way to keep track of the date throughout the year. There are 12 different cards and calendars and lots of things to embellish them. I love the way they turned out.
It’s two days before Christmas. Are there still some people you need to get gifts for on your list? A gift subscription to The Paper Pumpkin would be a great idea and so easy too. You wouldn’t even have to leave your sofa! Loads of people would be so happy with a subscription box or even just this box!
These are a couple of the month’s cards that I put together. Aren’t they pretty? I am loving them so much! They display nicely on the stand that is included in the box. I just love getting my box in the mail every month and am so happy to work with Paper Pumpkin and Stampin’ Up!
You can win your own ‘One Great Year’ box delivered to your mail box by entering using the Rafflecopter below. Be sure to share with your friends too because they might want to enter. Merry Christmas to you and your family!!
