This week we had a super fun family night and I’d love to share it with you. I’m a little bit of a nerd, so forgive me if I sounds a little over the top excited. We really had fun. Our plan was to have the grandkids come over, have a yummy dinner, Build a Blanket Fort, play for a bit and have a snack. It was a roaring success and the next blanket fort is already in the works. I feel a sleep over coming on!
I received this Lush Decor Bamboo Throw from Wayfair in the mail a few days before we built our fort, so I used it as one of the blankets. I also gathered several other blankets because just one blanket won’t do.
This picture was our inspiration. I showed the kids and my husband, so we would all know what we were building. Don’t forget your pins when you’re building. They really help.
We started off with two tree branches from our tent, which the kids are holding, but decided they were way too tall. They are about 8 feet long. I don’t have a blanket that big.
We switched to a broom and paint pole and used the chairs and the tie from the blanket to hold the poles in place.
Lily wanted to help Papa. I’m not sure how much she actually was, but she tried and that’s the important thing. Yes?
This little dude is such a cute kid. I just love him.
Hayden and Owen started on the other pole and were really doing great, until…
the cat decided to help. Not really. He was untying everything they were tying.
Rotten cat. Papa to the rescue!!
Next it was time to add the blankets. Just a note here. Kids are fast movers and sometimes they blur a little, or a lot. I took so many pictures with blurry kids.
We had to try a few different things before we got it just right.
Louie was really curious and had a lot of fun with the kids.
This is the back of the fort. See the clips holding it together?
The kids really, really had fun and can’t wait to build another one. I’m pretty sure they are coming up with all sorts of plans for the next time. They like to plan stuff out. They must get that from me. (See the Lush Decor Bamboo Throw on the front?)
Look at that smile on Lily’s face.
And the boys too. Don’t I have the cutest grandkids ever? I sure think so.
This throw is one of the softest throws I’ve ever felt. I had no idea bamboo could be so soft.
It would make a great Christmas gift for someone on your list. Or yourself. Have you ever built a blanket fort? Did you or your kids love it as much as my grandkids? Thank you so much to Wayfair for sponsoring our fun night!
