Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Today’s post is a short one, but I wanted you all to know just how thankful I am for all of the blessings in my life. There are so many that it is impossible to list them all. However, here are a few of the things I am thankful for on this great day, in a little post called 15 Thanksgiving Blessings.
I am first and foremost thankful for my Savior. Without HIM, nothing at all would be possible. Without HIM, I would have no direction. Without HIM, there would be no happy eternity. He guides me through my life. He is a sounding board when I have a worry. He is my friend and confidant. He is my Savior. I love Him and I am so grateful for the sacrifice He made for me. I am thankful for the freedom to worship as I choose.
Next, I am thankful for this guy, my husband and eternal companion. He keeps my life interesting for sure. He is a funny, funny guy, a fun traveling companion, very knowledgable on so many topics (he also has a wealth of useless information), great to sit and watch a Sunday football game with, my love. I’m so blessed to have him in my life.
My incredibly gorgeous kids. (This was my son’s wedding day last year.) They are all a kick in the pants for sure. They make me laugh and cry, more laughter than crying for sure. They keep me on my toes. They are all great “kids” and I’m so proud of the adults they have grown into and the friends they are to each other and me. I love them so much, but I also really like them all.
I am thankful for these cute little grandkids. They are adorable, funny, loving and a kick in the pants. They are also never sitting still, so it’s difficult to get a great picture of them. They are a light and blessing to my life and I’m so happy for them. They make me tired, but a great tired. Love them!
Our whole family.
I am thankful for my beautiful mom, who has a heart of gold. She is a loving, sweet southern lady. I love visiting with her and learning from her. She worked hard to raise us and I think, even though we are adults, I think she is still raising us.
I am thankful for my handsome dad. He is one of the smartest people I know. Seriously. He came from severe poverty to the place he is now. He has worked hard all his life to learn and grow and has done a fine job of it.
I really struck gold in the parent department. They both love me and have cared for me over my life. That is a lot more than some people can say of their parents. I am blessed for sure.
I am thankful for my siblings. I don’t get to see them often enough for sure, but I am grateful for their presence in my life. I talk to my sister almost every day and while I don’t talk to my brother often, I know he is out there and that brings me comfort. I just love them both so much.
I am thankful for wildlife that I am privileged to view it first hand with just a short drive. There are so many people who only see wildlife at the zoo, which isn’t wildlife. That is sad for me because being out there in the wild is so relaxing and fun.
I am thankful for our little piece of Alaska. We have about 8 acres of land out in the thick woods of Alaska where we are very slowly building a cabin with our own hands. It’s a place my husband has dreamed of having and it’s a place we can go to for peace and quiet. It’s way out there.
I am thankful for the country in which I live and the freedoms it affords me and my family. I am thankful for the Constitution which was written all those years ago and for the people who fight to protect our way of life.
I am thankful for the friends in my life. There are so many of them. Some are friends I’ve had since high school, some I’ve met along the way and some are newer. Friends come into your life for a reason. Some stay forever. I’m grateful for them all.
I am thankful for my health. Some days it plays tricks on me, but I am so much better off than so many people in the world. I have challenges for sure, but that’s okay. A little challenge in your life builds character, right?
I am thankful for a place to live and food to eat. I know that I have more than most of the population of the world and I am I grateful for the plenty in my life and the ability to share with others.
I am thankful for YOU and this blog. I am thankful for the creativity and inspiration that is given to me so that I can have this blog. I love writing, creating and sharing here. I love the interaction that I have with you.
I am thankful for enough. What are you thankful for today? I’d love to hear about it.
