What is your favorite holiday? Do you have more than one? As much as I love chocolate, you would think mine was either Valentine’s Day or Halloween. If you thought that, you are actually wrong. I’m a woman of many layers. Aren’t I? My favorites are actually Independence Day and Thanksgiving. I love the family time, the meanings of them both and the food on Thanksgiving can’t be beat! Also, the fireworks of Independence Day really excite me. Love them. Thanksgiving is coming up and this month’s Paper Pumpkin box has some really cute Treat Bags that will help you in your preparations. If you are a Halloween lover, they can be used for that too. PS Be sure to keep scrolling past the last picture for this month’s giveaway.
I was talking to my mom on the phone and she asked me to save some of my bags for her because she needs more than was in her box, so I only put three of them together. It wasn’t too difficult, although I found using my fingers instead of the straw to give a little curl and body to my bags was easier. Aren’t they cute?
When I create something, this is often what my table looks like. Sad but true. I like to spread out. A lot. I was canning apples and making jam on the same day as I was making my bags, so you can see some of it on the side. Look at all of the supplies that are included in the box. (Phone and scissors not included.)
I really love the Paper Pumpkin and Stampin’ Up. They have some really great supplies for all of your card making and paper craft needs. You know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, right? Well, another thing I love about the Paper Pumpkin and Stampin’ Up is that they give back. They are giving $1 for every October box delivered, for those who sign up by October 10th. The proceeds will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. So, treat yourself to a fun subscription to the Paper Pumpkin and help someone else too. It’s the perfect time. October’s supplies will even come in a pink box! So neat.
You may know that last year at this time one of my very dear friends, Karlenn, was fighting her own battle with breast cancer. It was a rough fight, but she made it through to the other side and I’m so, so happy to report that she is cancer free! So exciting!! We actually put together some Paper Pumpkin boxes while she was having chemo one day. It was a great distraction. You can see those projects HERE.
