Thanksgiving is coming up in not too long. Do you plan your menu out months in advance or have a set menu each year? I haven’t hosted Thanksgiving in a lot of years, but I always know I have to make this and I have a treat for you today. Holy Cow it’s a good one! My girls absolutely love Southern Pecan Pie, even having me make it for their birthdays. Both of their birthdays are in October, so I end up making this pie four times in the Fall/Winter, almost every year. Crazy, right. It’s that good though. Doesn’t it look good? Before you eat it, be sure to grab yourself a big glass of milk because it is a sweet pie.
I’ve wondered over the years, who came up with the basic premiss for this pie. It’s kind of odd ingredients to throw together. I checked out the origin and the earliest reference I could find was 1886, but not the same corn syrup based pie. Whatever the origin, it’s amazing and you should totally make it!
I’ve said that this is my daughter’s favorite pie. I think mine is Chocolate French Silk. I know. A chocolate based pie is my favorite. Shocking. NOT! What is your favorite pie? Maybe I will get some new ideas. Let me know below. To read the rest of this post and get the amazing recipe, please visit my contributor post on Busy Mom’s Helper. You won’t regret it. I promise.
