Thank you to Modern Masters for providing the paint for this Front Door Makeover.
When I went to SNAP Conference in April, I met some nice folks from Modern Masters, a lovely paint company that has the most wonderful paint for doors. I had thought about painting my front door when we moved in, but hadn’t had a chance to do it yet, so I was excited to talk to them. In actuality, my whole house needs painted, re-sided and a new roof, but we have to do things a little at a time. I thought a Front Door Makeover would brighten up at least a little of the house, so that’s why it was in my head.
This is what my door looked like before I painted it. Kind of sad and nothing special. I painted it last about seven years ago, so it was time. Before I got out the paint, I gave the door a good scrubbing. It was dirty for sure. Then, I got to painting. I decide to paint the door frame and threshold white, just to brighten it even more. Then, it was time for the door. I picked Sophisticated as my color choice and I just love it! There are a lot of colors to choose from, so head over and see what they have for you to fall in love with right away.
Something really awesome about the Modern Masters Front Door paint is that it doesn’t fade. That means you don’t have to repaint the door next year. Yippie! The color is so vibrant too. I used 3 coats of paint on my door because I had trouble getting the recessed parts painted right. My fault, not the paints. After the door was painted, we switched out the door knob, lock and peep hole because we wanted new stuff. I was afraid the old know would fall off and lock us out sometime very soon.
Lucky me, I have enough paint left to paint my garage door too. We have to replace it first though. It has serious issues. Don’t you love the way this turned out? I really do. The color is beautiful and just what I wanted. Our door is in a little alcove, so it’s protected from the wind, so I couldn’t get a really great full on photo, but you can see most of it.
So, which color of Modern Masters Front Door paint would you choose for you front door? Leave me a comment below and let me know.
