Today I have a fun post, heavy with photos and light one words, for you. When I went to SNAP Conference in April, I met some lovely people from Tulip, America’s favorite Tie Dye. They asked me if I wanted to receive a kit once I got home and of course, I said yes. A bit later, this fun package showed up in my mailbox, full of all materials I would need for a fun party. So excited! I decided then and there that I would have some people over for a little Tie Dye Your Summer party! Doesn’t that sound fun?!
These are all of the things in the kit that I received. So generous, yes?! My friends Lacey and Lisa came over and brought lots and lots of shirts to tie dye. Then my grandkids came over and had so much fun picking out a pattern and dying their shirts.
If you visit the Tulip site, there are lots of techniques for different patterns, complete with videos to help you figure it all out. Lacey says to be sure to wear your gloves, lest you end up with colorful hands!
Here are some of our process photos. I’m not going to give you instructions because there are such great ones on the Tulip website. I had only done this once in the past, but it wasn’t like this at all that time. It was a very long time ago.
Here are the shirts my grandkids made. Please excuse Owen, on the left. I took about 20 photos of these kids and he is making a face or pose in every single one. You can see their shirts best in this one though.
This is my son Nicholas and his lovely wife Kelsey in shirts I made. I was going for the Captain America shirt for his. There are instructions on the website for this shirt. The one Kelsey is wearing is the very first one at the top.
These next two pictures are of Lisa’s kids. Lisa brought some shirts with things already on them that were white. Most of them turned out pretty well. Tie Dying shirts with stains is a great way to bring new life into old shirts.
This is Lacey’s family.
I love this picture of Troy and Arika. It’s so sweet. Me thinks that baby has her daddy wrapped right around her finger already.
I’m so happy my friends and grandkids were able to come over and make some fun shirts with me. Now we have some fun new shirts for the summer! I know, it’s almost over, but if you wear them all year long, you can have some summer in you day all the time!
So tell me, what do you do to keep a little summer in your days all year long?
