I was recently asked by The J.M. Smucker’s Company to introduce you to the Smucker’s® brand of ice cream toppings and some of the endless possibilities. Oh the possibilities are vast. Create a Fun Day with a Sundae for your family.
I have been spending a lot of time with my grandkids lately since their parents have been working so much. When they come over to spend time with me, I try to plan a fun activity to do with them. Sometimes they like to run through the sprinklers, sometimes it’s an art project and sometimes it’s food related.
On a recent visit it was raining all day, so I asked them if they wanted to make sundaes. They were skeptical at first. I’m not sure why. It’s ice cream after all. However, when I brought out all of the amazing Smucker’s® toppings I picked up from Walmart in preparation for their visit, their eyes popped open and they were so excited. I’m so glad I got a lot of toppings.
Their first question was if they could make the sundaes themselves. Because messes aren’t that big of a deal to me, I said yes. We went through all of the flavors of topping and then they suggested some sprinkles too. I had to dig those out, but we got it all together and went to “work” on building their sundaes.
We used some vanilla ice cream for a base so they could taste all of the flavors. Lily is only two, so her sundae was pretty basic, just the Funfetti Vanilla Cake and some sprinkles. She loved that it came out blue and ate every single bite, which doesn’t always happen with her.
Owen is five and more adventurous so he tried the Funfetti Vanilla Cake, the Chocolate Fudge, the Chocolate Mint Cookie and some sprinkles. He’s a really good eater and wanted more when he was done. Since I still had several hours left to watch them, I didn’t let him have more. Do I look crazy?!
Hayden is seven and thought having a little bit of everything would be the best way to eat his ice cream sundae. He added some of each kind, but really loved the Strawberry topping. I’m pretty sure I caught him putting a spoonful of it in his mouth when I wasn’t looking.
Having a little sundae party with my grandkids was a great way to have some fun on the rainy day and they had so much fun making and eating their creations. They had so much fun that they wanted to make them again the next time they came over. I’m Grandma, so of course I said yes.
Are you wondering if I made anything wonderful with the Smucker’s® toppings? Well you know I did, I just waited until they left so I actually got to eat it. I made a little parfait of sorts, layering ice cream, banana, Strawberry topping, Hot Fudge topping, strawberries and whipped cream. I ate every single bite! It was so amazing too.
You should go out and stock up on Smucker’s® Ice Cream Toppings at your local Walmart right away and have a Sundae Party with your family or friends. Be sure to plan some time to make your selection though. There are so many choices. What will you do to make your Sundae a Fundae!
