In May I wanted to make a gift for a very special girl who was graduating high school. I knew I wanted to make something for her to use on her desk in college, so I put on my thinking cap and looked around my craft room and this Mirrored Pen Holder shaped in my mind. I love the way it turned out and my young friend liked it too.
I’d like to share a little bit of fun history about my young friend. I have known her literally her whole life. I have pictures of my kids holding her as a brand new baby. When her mom, whom I love dearly, was a teenage, she used to stay with us when her parents went on motorcycle trips. When my kids were young, she babysat them. Then, when her kids were young, my kids watched them. Such a crazy connection we have. Now, her oldest is all grown up and off on her new adventure. I know she will do well because she is that girl.
I know I made this as a gift, but if you have a plethora of writing things around your house like I do, this is a perfect solution that also looks nice. This would also be a great idea to hold kitchen utensils, especially if you have stainless steel appliances in your kitchen. Just use a little bit taller vase so the utensils don’t tip out.
To get the directions for this pen holder, please see this month’s contributor post on Clarks Condensed. I’d love it if you would leave a little comment on one of these posts too. Thanks for reading!!
Thank you so much to Rust-Oleum for the great items for this project. We do love the way it turned out. Now to decide what to do with the rest of the can…
