Mornings in my house are organized chaos. With six of us, all going in different directions, it can be a juggle. I wish I could tell you that I wake up early every morning. Make pancakes, bacon and eggs and fresh squeezed orange juice, and sit down to a delightful breakfast with my family. Much like the Cleaver family on, Leave it to Beaver. But, that would be a big fat lie! It’s more like a frantic rush of packing lunches, looking for shoes, school work, frozen waffles and cereal.
The recipe for banana smoothies I am sharing with you today is great for breakfast, a snack or even desert. Oh so much more healthy then the frozen waffle! I honestly feel like Suzie Homemaker when I take the 5 minutes to whip this up for my family, sad but true.
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 6oz. Tub of gluten free vanilla yogurt
- 1 tsp. Honey (I always use raw local honey, so much better for you!)
- ½ tsp. Vanilla
- 3-4 dashes of cinnamon
- Put the first 5 ingredients in the blender.
- Fill the rest of the blender with ice.
- Blend until smooth
I love to recommend books to people. I will admit, I can be a bit obnoxious about it. When I go to library book sales and I see a book I love, I fervently try to persuade one of the other patrons to take it home and read it. I seriously do not know what comes over me! It pains me to see the book I love, sitting unclaimed when I know how great it is! I always leave those sales feeling like a bit of a crazy person. (A crazy person with a $2 bag of new books, woohoo!)
This past month I read The Aviator’s Wife by Melanie Benjamin, with my book club. I have read a lot of books and I have to say, this is one of the most well written books I have ever read. It is a historical fiction about the Lindenberg family written from the view point of Anne Morrow Lindenberg. It is a tragic story about one of the most famous and accomplished couples in American history. It was so thoroughly researched, and completely enthralling, that I had to keep reminding myself that it is in fact, fiction. I highly recommend this page turner. You will not be disappointed!
Do you have a book you love, you would want to chase me down and convince me to read? Let me know. I always love a good recommendation!
