Thank you to The Paper Pumpkin for providing the supplies for this project.
Yesterday I told you that I received my orange box from The Paper Pumpkin in the mail and showed you how I made these great gift boxes with part of the kit. Today I’m showing you this fun Blessings Banner I made with some of the other parts of the kit. I like the way it turned out and it will be a great reminder through-out the month of November.
In case you don’t know what the Paper Pumpkin is, I will tell you really quickly. They provide a monthly subscription where you receive a box in the mail to make a paper craft of some sort. Sometimes it’s cards, sometimes it’s holiday decor. It’s loads of fun to get it in the mail. So much better than bills.
The first thing I did was cut up the pieces so I had ten triangles and eight rectangle pieces. Then I cut the bottom edge of each rectangle to make them a little fancier.
Next, I picked some papers out of my paper box and cut them to cover 5 of the triangles. After they were cut I used some Mod Podge to cover the front of the triangles and attach the papers. When they were dry, I Mod Podged the back of the triangles to prevent them from curling.
Then I used a paint pen to put the word “BLESSINGS” on the banner, one letter per triangle. I also put a blessing on each rectangle.
After the paint was dry, I punched some holes in the triangles and used some of the provided yarn to attach the triangles to each other, leaving a little space between each triangle.
To attach the rectangles, I taped a piece of yarn to the back of each one and then tied it to the yarn that was between the triangles, as shown below.
Finally, I attached a pom pom to each end of the banner, to give it a little bit of fun.
This is the way my banner looks on my wall. When I look at this banner, it will be a reminder of some of my many, many blessings. I chose to put these blessings on my banner: Family, Faith, Home, Country, Freedom, Jobs, Friends and Health.
What blessings would you include on your banner?
