It is official, I am a genius!! Okay, well maybe not, but I did just create the most delectable drink you may ever taste in your life!! Before you read this you should probably get ready to go to the store, because after I tell you about this life changing drink, you will just have to make it!!
I don’t know how you like your margaritas, I like mine just on the rocks. A lot of people like theirs frozen. I’m not too big into cold things, it hurts my teeth, so that is why I prefer mine just over ice.
To get the yummy coconut flavor I used cream of coconut and coconut milk. I wasn’t sure the difference so I opened both cans. Here’s what I learned…
One is more milky and thick, and the other is more oily and thinner. Do you know which one is which?
I guess you could guess by what they’re called, the coconut milk is the thicker, milkier one, go figure! Since I didn’t know this I started by using the milk. Once I mixed some lime juice and coconut milk together, it was much too thick and frothy for my liking, so I added some cream of coconut to it to thin it out. It was actually perfect by then.
Next, I added in my tequila. I like my margaritas a little strong, but not so terrible I can’t drink it. I just added one shot at a time, then taste tested it and added more until it was perfect!
Lastly, I added in ice. I don’t like mine so thick that you need a spoon, so I just added in ice one cup at a time until it was how I like it. The great thing about this recipe is that it is completely customizable to how you like it! You can even make it kid friendly, or even adult friendly 😉 by leaving out the tequila and it will taste just fine!!
This incredible drink has some great flavor and has the perfect summer taste! I hope you will try it out soon!!
Coconut Lime Margaritas Makes a whole pitcher
3 shots silver tequila
4 cups ice
1/2 cup cream of coconut
1/2 cup coconut milk
1 cup lime juice
3 drops green food coloring (just for fun)
Combine everything in blender and mix well. I use the smoothie setting. Serve immediately, refrigerate leftovers.
What is your favorite summer drink?
